GINGER NEWBERG

I enjoyed making my way through college and psychology graduate school as a certified group exercise instructor and personal trainer.  I was then introduced to yoga and my life was transformed.  Through my personal practice, yoga provided a complete workout of the body and mind, and taught me to exercise and perform as an athlete in a more intuitive manner, with fewer injuries, better performance, and overall satisfaction.  The effects of yoga were also noticeable in my life off the mat in dealing with family, work, and other daily events that became less stressful and more enjoyable.  The external stimuli did not really change, but my reaction to them did.  After having my first child in 2000, I earned my certification as a yoga instructor and became a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance in 2004.  As a teacher, I strive to be compassionate toward everyone and offer a well-balanced physical and mental practice that is non-competitive, supportive, and encouraging.  I continue to expand my knowledge and experience through independent study and the teachings of several respected teachers including Seane Corn, Baron Baptiste, Bryan Kest, and Rod Stryker.  I am so grateful for the daily lessons yoga teaches me and the opportunity to share the joys of yoga with anyone who is open to it.
